A lady on my mail route, Shirley Evans, came to one of my shows, and heard me sing Josh Turner's "Long Black Train". She asked if I thought I could put a melody to a poem she had written in 1988, "The Long White Train". I told her I'd take it and try. Even as I was typing her words into my computer, the tune just came to me!
